“ I think this is very favorite spot in Little Tokyo that's not ramen. It's in the Japan Village Plaza which I think is a place you have to be wary for tourist traps, but this place is legit. I love how they prepare the okonomiyaki, and getting to watch how they prepare it on the teppan is an experience. I always ask for the noodles to be cooked crispy because it adds extra texture. I recommend this location over their Sawtelle location because it has a higher capacity. Have tried their takoyaki before, but thought they were just okay, namely because the balls didn't have much filling. But for the price, I feel that was to be expected. ”
“ My usual go-to location is the Sawtelle one. But on this trip, I decided to try the location in Little Tokyo. The Okonomiyaki is just as delicious here as the location in Sawtelle, but it has the added bonus of hot plates at the table that still keep what you ordered hot while you eat it. Service was fast and courteous, and I really enjoyed the Japanese ambiance. ”
“ I came here because I was craving some okonomiyaki. I had a pretty bad experience at the sawtelle location where they cooked my okonomiyaki into a rock, but I figured I could have this location a shot. I got the ika ika okonomiyaki which arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. The okonomiyaki here was way better than whatever disaster I had at their other location. The cabbages inside were still slightly crispy even after being mixed with the batter, the noodles were chewy, and the pork was edible. The squid on top was also very fresh. Overall, the food was good. I was able to finish the entire thing without it turned rock solid. The flavors with the provided sauce were strong, which I liked. Of course this still tasted nowhere close to what I could get in Japan, but chinchinkurin is the only spot that makes anything resembling okonomiyaki in LA. ”
“ Whenever I'm in Little Tokyo, I always eat here (or whenever I'm craving okonomiyaki). The wait is never usually that long. Service is pretty decent except as soon as you're done, they try to rush you out. Which is fair since they usually have a wait. The okonomiyaki here is top notch! Highly recommend!! ”
“ The place set up is casual and comfortable and same with the foods. It has been around for awhile and alway busy in the weekend. We went here for drinks and some simple (street foods) snacks. Services are great and speedy. Would have give a five but it's abit messy (the floors) and the bathrooms are just not clean at all. ”
“ Accommodating servers and swift turnaround!! I FINALLY came back a month later to grab some takoyaki on my way home and share with my family, which after ordering I picked up in less than 10 minutes! I was in a bit of time crunch and even though it was a busy Friday night, I ordered another takoyaki as I was picking my previous order and was able to take it right away! Although I was a little disappointed the quality of the takoyaki was different, with the missing signature crunch, my family loved the flavor! All in all, still looking forward to trying other flavors here! ”
“ Came on a friday for lunch and was seated immediately at the bar overlooking the takoyaki chefs. For two people, we ordered the mixed takoyaki (jalapeno and P.T.), karaage, and the ika ika okonomiyaki. We liked the jalapeno over P.T. takoyaki because the jalapeno infused mayo was soo good. Karaage was super crispy and delicious. The ika ika was the best thing in my opinion, be sure to get the crunchy noodles. The crunchiness of the noodles are a great contrast against the softer cabbage. We didn't get to sit at a table with a grill or at the bar where you could see the chefs making the okonomiyaki which would have been fun. It is fun to eat here and then walk around the little tokyo plaza afterwards. Overall a very solid and fun experience. ”
“ Chinchikurin is a delicious Hiroshima-style Okanomiyaki spot located conveniently in the Japanese Village Plaza in the heart of Little Tokyo. What's great about the area is there's plenty of parking options and you honestly can't miss the restaurant as you're walking around. We got there about 10-minutes before the restaurant opened and there was already a line of about 8-10 people waiting outside. Luckily they're able to accommodate several tables worth of customers at a time. Each table is equipped with a grill in the middle to keep food hot as it comes in. A TV showing tips on how to eat Okanomiyaki, which is appreciated because it's not a typical food people encounter everyday! We ordered the Chinchikurinyaki, their signature dish which contains beef instead of the typical pork. Though delicious, it's good to note that it is on the pricier side for the portion given. Regardless, it is a real treat and is a good mix of sweet and savory. A tip is that you can order items from the connecting takoyaki spot but it'll be on a separate tab. We ended up getting a couple matcha lemonades and a mentai takoyaki to share! ”
“ Chinchikurin is a great spot in Little Tokyo, perfectly located right next to the new Shohei Ohtani mural and in the heart of the Tokyo Village. The location is super convenient with ample parking nearby, making it easy to get to even on a busy day. This was our first time trying Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, and it was such a treat! We ordered four of their top dishes--Chinchikurin, Goam, the loaded Kaisen, and Yokisoba--and everything was absolutely delicious. Each dish was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. What made the experience even more fun is that the restaurant is connected to a small takoyaki ball spot, so we were able to grab some of those as well. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was excellent. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because it's a little on the pricier side, but the overall experience was fantastic. Highly recommend for a delicious and unique dining outing in Little Tokyo! ”
